The city of Busan recently selected five exceptional landscaping projects as winners of the 12th Beautiful Landscape Awards, recognizing both public and private sector contributions to enhancing the city’s green spaces.

The competition, aimed at fostering “a green, pleasant, and beautifully landscaped Busan,” saw 13 entries, with a panel of experts ultimately choosing five winners.

The grand prize went to Yeonje-gu’s Mirror Rock Cultural Life Shelter, which impressed with its creative use of space, accessibility for diverse age groups, and strong connectivity to public facilities like the Yeonsan Library.

The Best Awards were presented to Asian Athletes Village Park in Haeundae-gu and Gimhae Airport’s Indoor Garden in Gangseo-gu.

In the private sector, Momos Coffee’s “Everyone’s Garden” and Songdo The First Beach in Seogu received Excellence Awards for their exceptional landscape designs.

Award recipients will be recognized with plaques and certificates from the Mayor of Busan at an awards ceremony to be held in December.
