The 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) will open tonight and run until September 7, bringing together comedians from Korea and abroad for ten days of laughter across the city.

The opening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. tonight in the BEXCO Auditorium, hosted by comedian Park Myung-soo. Performances will include the LED media art team Vitality Crew, comedian Lee Myeong-hwa—winner of the Comedy YouTube Award—American act Bunk Puppets, and a special stage from the cast of Gag Concert.

This year’s festival features a diverse lineup at BEXCO, Haeundae Gunam-ro, and other venues.

Highlights include Seoul Comedy All-Stars, Mandam Assembly@Bukope, Comedy Shop, and live versions of Gag Concert.

A new program, Comedy Book Concert, will take place at Dongseo University’s Idea Lab, where comedians such as Exclusiveness and Lee Hong-ryeol will share stories as authors and meet audiences.

Free side events are also scheduled, including Comedy Street (September 4–7) with outdoor street performances in Haeundae, and Comedy Open Concerts that bring comedy directly to the community, with shows at Yurari Square, the 53rd Division, and Baekyang Cultural Arts Center.

The festival will close on September 7 at 6 p.m. at the Busan Cultural Center with a hybrid performance of gags and music titled I Am a Dog Singer, followed by an awards ceremony for participating works.

Tickets are available through Interpark (ticket.interpark.com), with full program details on the official BICF website (bicf.kr).
