Daiso is experiencing unprecedented success by opening ultra-large stores in Busan’s most prominent commercial districts.

The brand has established itself in premium locations, including department stores, premium outlets, and high-end residential complexes, further solidifying its dominance in the retail sector.

The largest Daiso store in Busan is the Marine City branch in Haeundae-gu, which opened in December 2023 spanning approximately 2,000 square meters.

Other major locations include the Daiso store in Connect Hyundai Busan which occupies most of the 8th floor with a retail space of approximately 1,000 square meters.

Another key store is at Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlet in Gijang-gun, which opened in December 2023 with a 1,200-square-meter space.

This store marked the first time a Daiso location was incorporated into a domestic premium outlet.

In November 2023, Daiso further expanded its footprint in Busan by replacing a downsized Homeplus store at the Dongrae branch with a 1,800-square-meter Daiso location.

These expansions highlight the brand’s increasing appeal not only in shopping malls and outlets but also in high-traffic residential areas, allowing it to establish itself as an essential retailer in Busan.

With an extensive inventory of approximately 30,000 items, including cosmetics, health products, and household necessities, Daiso attracts a diverse range of customers. Unlike traditional supermarkets and outlets, Daiso fills a niche by offering affordable daily essentials that complement the existing retail landscape.

Asung Daiso’s revenue in 2023 reached 3.4605 trillion won, marking a 17.47% increase (514.7 billion won) from the previous year’s 2.9458 trillion won.
