South Korean students must take the college scholastic ability test called Suneung. Koreans normally give gifts of rice cakes or Korean taffies (Yeot) gifts to test-takers during the Suneung exam season. On the morning of exams, which take place in mid-November, supporters flock to the local high schools to give out well wishes and these snacks.
