Gimhae Hanok Experience Center (Gimhae City)
As Gimhae City prepares for a busy fall season filled with events like the National (Disabled) Sports Festival, the Gaya Cultural Festival, and the Buncheong Ceramics Festival, the Gimhae Hanok Experience Center is making efforts to ensure it remains a memorable lodging destination.
To enhance the guest experience, the center has replaced its bedding and strengthened its hygiene practices.
The newly replaced bedding is unique, crafted by the Modan Craft Cooperative, a local group of artisans. Rather than using mass-produced items, the bedding was custom-designed with intricate embroidery featuring horseman-shaped and duck-shaped earthenware patterns, symbolizing Geumgwan Gaya, all on a refined wooden fabric base, showcasing the region’s cultural heritage.
In addition to the bedding upgrade, the center is bolstering its hygiene protocols. Regular disinfection of the guest rooms has been increased to twice a month, carried out by a professional quarantine company. Preventative measures have been intensified to control pests, with routine disinfections both inside and outside the facility.
The Gimhae Hanok Experience Center, known for its traditional atmosphere with 13 rooms that replicate the homes of Joseon-era nobility, welcomes around 8,000 guests annually.
Recently, it has gained even more popularity with the opening of Myeongwol, a new cultural space featuring a book cafe, local artist goods shop, and a serene water garden.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., “Myeongwol” has become a must-visit spot for both locals and visitors from nearby Busan and Gyeongnam regions.
