The Haeundae Jazz Festival will take place from October 23 to 26 at the Haeundae Cultural Center’s Haeundae Hall.

This annual festival, now in its 11th year, is designed to showcase diverse jazz artists and provide performance opportunities for local Busan musicians, and will feature a variety of exciting performances.

This year’s lineup includes Busan-based pianists and vocalists, the eight-member ska band Kingston Rudiska, and vocalist Lim Jeong-hee.

On October 23, pianist Mind Piano and vocalist Wina will open the festival with performances of “Autumn Jazz and Friends” and “With a Heart That Must Be Forgotten,”.

On October 24, the Song Young-joo Trio will take the stage, accompanied by special guest vocalist Kim Yu-jin, performing songs like “Secret Love” and “Dancing Alone.”

On October 25, Kingston Rudiska will blend Korean sensibilities with Jamaican music, delivering lively performances of “Rainy Day,” “Because of You,” and “Tonight.”

The festival will close on October 26 with performances by Lim Jeong-hee, Busan-born jazz pianist Jo Su-im, and daegeum player Son Han-byeol, showcasing a unique fusion of jazz and traditional Korean music in pieces such as “It Can’t Be Real” and “Clockwork.” This collaboration of rich jazz melodies with the daegeum is one of the most anticipated highlights of the festival.
