Hwadam Forest in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, is currently holding the Hwadam Forest Summer Hydrangea Festival, running from early June through late July.

Visitors can explore a vivid landscape of 70,000 hydrangeas across 100 species, particularly in the 4,500㎡ Hydrangea Garden, one of the forest’s 16 themed gardens, where mountain hydrangeas bloom near waterfalls and lush foliage, creating a striking seasonal panorama.

The festival stretches from the entrance of Gonjiam Resort to the heart of Hwadam Forest, with colorful hydrangeas such as the snowman-like American hydrangea, tree-like wooden hydrangea, and dense large-leaf varieties offering stunning photo opportunities.

In addition to the floral displays, the forest hosts a variety of experiential programs, including guided commentary tours, bonsai workshops through August 24, moss terrarium making, and insect observation classes.

All events are guided by expert gardeners and are designed to help visitors connect more deeply with nature.
