The 27th Hwagae Market Cherry Blossom Festival will take place from March 28 to March 30 at Green Narae Square near the Hwagae-myeon Office and the Car-Free Ship-ri Cherry Blossom Road.

This highly anticipated festival, hosted by the Hwagae-myeon Youth Association and organized by the Hwagae Market Cherry Blossom Festival Promotion Committee, promises a delightful experience filled with performances, cultural events, and interactive programs.

Kicking off the festivities, the Hadong County Arts Troupe will deliver a pre-performance, followed by an exciting lineup including the first preliminary round of the Gyeongnam Youth Busking Contest, the Youth Dance Contest, and the Cherry Blossom DJ Music Festival.

A highlight of the festival is the “Wedding Road”, set up on the car-free cherry blossom street during the weekend.

This special photo zone will offer couples and visitors a romantic backdrop to create unforgettable memories. The Hwagae 10-ri Cherry Blossom Road, also known as ‘Wedding Road’, carries the legend that couples who discuss marriage under its cherry blossoms will remain together for a lifetime.

A special program has been designed for those planning proposals or weddings, featuring professional photography sessions by reservation, live busking performances, and a tea-tasting experience to add to the romance.

This year’s festival also includes a walking program along the ‘Starry World Road in a Bottle’ in Hwagae-dong, a location praised by the esteemed poet Choi Chi-won as a “starry world in a jar.”

Visitors will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of blooming cherry blossoms and refreshing streams in a picturesque setting.

The Hwagae 10-ri Cherry Blossom Road, stretching from Hwagae Market to Ssanggyesa Temple, is widely regarded as Korea’s most stunning cherry blossom path.

With over 1,200 cherry trees planted since the 1930s, this historic road has flourished for nearly a century, creating a breathtaking floral spectacle each spring.
