The “Pet Culture Park” project, to be located in Cheolma Neighborhood Park in Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun, passed a preliminary review by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport’s Development Restriction Zone Management Committee.

This project, part of Mayor Park Heong-joon’s 8th-term policy pledge, will move forward following this approval.

Set to occupy 241,000 square meters in Cheolma-myeon, the Companion Culture Park will feature pet-focused amenities, including a global-themed garden, a pet education center, a companion plant garden, and local market spaces.

The project, with an estimated cost of 35.5 billion won, will integrate convenience, educational, and cultural facilities for pet owners and enthusiasts.

Following the approval, the city will move forward with urban planning, park development procedures, and compensations, aiming to start construction in the first half of 2026.
