Gyeongnam province announced a selection of 18 recommended travel destinations perfect for families to enjoy during May, known in South Korea as Family Month.

With a variety of options ranging from theme parks and botanical gardens to wellness centers and scenic parks, the province aims to create memorable experiences for both children and adults.

Among the top attractions are the Tongyeong Cable Car, offering sweeping views of the Hallyeo Waterway; Gaya Theme Park in Gimhae, where visitors can experience the history of the ancient Geumgwan Gaya; Sunshine Miryang Theme Park with its diverse cultural experiences; Danghangpo Tourist Site in Goseong, which features dinosaur-themed shows and activities; and Hapcheon Film Theme Park, a renovated site popular with drama fans.

Nature lovers can explore vibrant botanical sites like Jinyangho Zoo in Jinju, Aramaru Aquarium in Sacheon, Geoje Botanical Garden’s Jungle Dome, Rabbit Song Hill in Changnyeong, and Changpowon in Geochang, known for its blooming irises and family facilities.

For those seeking a more relaxed outing, destinations such as Hadong Wild Tea Culture Center, Donguibogam Village in Sancheong, and Rose Park in Changwon offer spaces for healing and leisure. Other recommended spots include Hwangsan Park in Yangsan, Hwajeong Poppy Flower Road in Uiryeong, Gangnaru Ecological Park in Haman, Yi Sun-sin Sea Park in Namhae, and Sangrim Park in Hamyang.

In addition to site visits, Gyeongnam will host various spring festivals, including the Hwangmaesan Azalea Festival, Chilseo Ecological Park’s Green Barley and Peony Festival, and the Geochang On Spring Festival, offering seasonal beauty, performances, and family-friendly activities.
