(City of Busan)
The city of Busan has officially registered two unique green spaces, ‘Ochoryang Garden’ in Choryang-dong, Dong-gu and ‘Everyone’s Garden’ at the Momos Coffee headquarters in Bugok-dong, Geumjeong-gu, as the city’s second and third official private gardens.
Following the city’s first designation in December 2024 of the F1963 Garden, a cultural space in Suyeong-gu, Busan continues to promote urban green spaces through its private garden initiative.
‘Ochoryang Garden’, located within a restored 100-year-old Japanese colonial-era house in Choryang-dong, is a tranquil retreat amid the urban bustle.
The garden blends natural landscaping with heritage architecture and serves as a multipurpose cultural venue, hosting concerts, exhibitions, and humanities lectures.
With its serene layout and poetic name—“Ochoryang,” a nod to the exclamation “Oh!” in Choryang—the space invites visitors to experience the passage of time through art and nature.
‘Everyone’s Garden’, created at the heart of Momos Coffee’s flagship location, integrates coffee culture with thoughtful landscape design. Unlike traditional post-construction landscaping, the garden was designed as a central feature of the building’s architecture.
With two themed spaces, the Bamboo Garden and the eponymous Everyone’s Garden, this urban oasis offers locals and visitors a chance to enjoy coffee, culture, and greenery in harmony.
The city’s private garden initiative is part of its broader effort to expand public access to green spaces and cultivate a garden culture throughout Busan.
