(Seoul Art Week)
Seoul will transform into a giant art museum for a week as the city hosts the third edition of Seoul Art Week from September 1 to 7.
A total of 107 museums and galleries will participate, presenting more than 100 exhibitions and cultural programs across the city.
This year’s Art Week coincides with major international events such as Kiaf·Frieze Seoul, the Seoul Sculpture Festival, and the Seoul Mediacity Biennale. Highlights include the 2nd Seoul Sculpture Festival (Sept. 1–7, Ttukseom Hangang Park), which will showcase over 100 sculptures along the riverside; the 13th Seoul Mediacity Biennale (Aug. 26–Nov. 23), featuring 49 artist teams presenting video, installation, and film works under the theme “Invocations: The Technology of Spirits”; and Seoul Light DDP 2025 Autumn (Aug. 28–Sept. 7), a media art festival with large-scale immersive installations. In addition, the 2025 Fashion Road exhibition “Second Skin: Fashion, AI, and Light” (Sept. 2–7) will explore the intersection of technology and style at Sindang Station.
Seoul’s leading museums will also present special programs. The Seoul Museum of Art will feature exhibitions such as “Seosi: With a Heart That Sings the Stars” and “Jang Young-hye Heavy Industries vs. Hong Jin-hwon: No Middle Ground.”
The Seoul Museum of Craft Art will present two new shows: a Korea-Poland textile exchange exhibition and “Matter-Practice,” exploring the future of craft.
The city is also offering opportunities for international networking through a studio visit program featuring 51 resident artists from the city’s art residencies.
Additionally, citizens can join a stamp tour: by visiting five participating venues and certifying through the official app, participants will receive a commemorative gift at the festival information center in Ttukseom Hangang Park.
Details of all exhibitions and programs can be found on the Seoul Art Week website (artinseoul.kr/artweek) and the Smart Seoul Map.
