Spring is officially in the air, and Seoul is turning up the energy with a packed lineup of cultural festivals and outdoor events under the banner of “Fun City Seoul.”

From dazzling drone shows to K-pop mega-events, and sky-high cherry blossom views to Michelin-recommended food tours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout April and May.

Han River Lights Up With Drone Spectacle Starting April 12

Kicking things off is the Han River Drone Light Show, which runs from April 12 to May 11 at Ttukseom Hangang Park. Expect vivid LED drones to paint the night sky with animated light displays, accompanied by acoustic, jazz, and other live performances. It’s an atmospheric way to spend a spring evening by the water.

Cherry Blossoms With a View: Take a Ride on the “Seoul Balloon”

For a truly unique springtime experience, the city is spotlighting the Seoul Balloon during Yeouido’s Cherry Blossom Festival (April 8–12). Floating 130 meters in the air, the gas balloon offers panoramic views of Seoul’s skyline framed by blooming cherry trees. The balloon is increasingly popular with international tourists and now offers booking through major travel platforms like Klook, KKDay, and Trip.com.

Seoul Spring Festa Kicks Off April 30 With K-pop, Fashion, Food, and More

The centerpiece of the season, Seoul Spring Festa runs from April 30 to May 6 and transforms downtown Seoul into a massive cultural playground. Events will be held across Gwanghwamun Plaza and nearby areas, with fashion, beauty, food, and performances all rolled into one massive celebration.

Highlights include:

Seoul Wonder Show (April 30) – a star-studded K-pop concert.

Signature Show (May 1–3) – a surreal media art installation at the Seoul Library.

Seoul Road Show (May 4) – a walkable street fest from Gwanghwamun to the Blue House with pop-up performances.
