(Facbook/Busan International Rock Festival)
The first wave of acts for the 2025 Busan International Rock Festival, set to take place from September 26 to 28 at Samnak Ecological Park have been announced.
Now in its 26th year, the festival is Korea’s longest-running international rock music event.
The initial lineup features 20 domestic and international acts, including American alternative rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins, Japanese metal-pop group Babymetal, and acclaimed singer-songwriter Porter Robinson. Other artists include Thailand’s Slot Machine, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, and Korean rock band Thornapple.
This year’s Road to BU-ROCK, a pre-festival concert series, has expanded significantly and is being held in cities across Korea and abroad, including a recent showcase in Taipei. The final event in the series will be held in Seoul on June 21 and 22, headlined by Japanese rock band SPYAIR.
In addition, the annual “Rookies on the BU-ROCK” program, which discovers and supports emerging talent, will begin accepting applications in mid-May.
Early bird tickets went on sale through Yes24 on May 13 and sold out within one minute, demonstrating the festival’s growing popularity.
Full details and additional lineup announcements will be posted on the official website: www.busanrockfestival.com.
