(Miryang City)
Since 2009, Miryang City has opened its expansive 62,241㎡ (approximately 18,000 pyeong) lotus complex in Gasan-ri, Bubuk-myeon to the public, offering a vibrant natural space filled with aquatic life such as loaches, tree frogs, tadpoles, and water lilies.
Popular with families and students, it also serves as a valuable outdoor ecological learning site.
Visitors can stroll along a 300-meter trail, take photos at dedicated photo zones, and enjoy the serenity of lotus flowers in bloom, especially during peak hours between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. from mid-July to early August.
A newly added rainbow arch photo zone and plant tunnel paths offer both shade and a unique scenic backdrop. In the fall, kudzu vines turn the area pink, transforming it into a seasonal attraction.
After the blooms fade, the city will host a lotus root digging experience in early November, giving visitors a chance to connect with nature and local farming practices.
Additionally, the 25th Miryang Performing Arts Festival will run from July 27 to August 9 at the nearby Miryang Arena, under the theme “The Sound of Classics, Knocking on Everyday Life,” offering a perfect pairing of nature and cultural experiences.
