(Blue Skies Day)

The city of Busan will host various events to mark the ‘International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’ and promote carbon neutrality on September 7th.

The “Blue Skies Day” was established as the first United Nations commemorative day proposed by South Korea at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit, to raise awareness about the importance of air quality and climate change.

Busan designated the period from September 1 to 7 as “Blue Skies Week” and prepared various events, including a ceremony to promote eco-friendly living practices for improving air quality.

On Saturday, a climate experience event will be held at the lawn square of Busan Citizens Park in conjunction with the “Cheonggeon Busan” youth cultural event to commemorate Blue Skies Day.

Nam-gu district will run a climate environment experience class for children, and Buk-gu will operate a promotional space at BEXCO, with climate interpreters participating.
