Hwangsan Park (Yangsan City)

Yangsan City’s Hwangsan Park, the largest riverside park in the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region, is being transformed into a family-friendly haven, with a special focus on children.

The city announced plans to upgrade the park’s experience and play facilities, including popular zip lines, making it a go-to destination for families.

Yangsan City will invest 400 million won by the end of April next year to expand the children’s play and experience areas on a 2,600㎡ site between the camping area and Isaek Square in Hwangsan Park.

The new facilities will include two zip lines, each 13.5 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 3.5 meters high, as well as a square net hammock play area, a tunnel play area, a log bridge crossing, and swings.

These enhancements are part of Mayor Na Dong-yeon’s initiative to revitalize the local economy by improving Hwangsan Park’s amenities, particularly for families.

Construction is set to begin early next year, following the completion of necessary permits, with a targeted completion date of Children’s Day on May 5. The detailed design process, which began in September of last year, has already been completed.

Hwangsan Park is already a popular spot, featuring a children’s playground, Sand Kids Park, a mini train, and an RC car stadium. The mini train, which debuted in 2019, runs along an 840-meter track and is a hit with children, while the RC car track, opened in 2022, spans 3,200㎡ with a 251-meter-long track.

In addition to these attractions, the park offers a camping and picnic zone, a mini campfire area, and facilities for forest and water play, enhancing its appeal as a comprehensive family destination.

The Hwangsan Healing Forest also features sunbeds, and chairs have been added along the Nakdong Riverside Trail for visitors to enjoy the scenic views offering a wide range of activities and amenities that cater to both children and adults.
