(makgeolli)

Seoul will offer traditional Korean liquor experiences for foreign residents and tourists from June 12 to July 11 through brewery tours and special tasting classes.

The program, designed to showcase the taste and cultural significance of traditional alcohol, will run every Thursday and Friday at select locations.

The brewery tours, held in collaboration with Samhae Sojuga in Mapo-gu and Eoritgwangdae Brewery in Yeongdeungpo-gu, include guided tastings and hands-on activities such as making makgeolli. The cost is 50,000 won per person.

In addition, special classes will take place at the Traditional Liquor Gallery in Bukchon, Jongno-gu, on June 11 and 25. Participants can taste two types of traditional liquor, try makgeolli brewing, and purchase alcohol on site. These classes are priced at 25,000 won per person.

Each session is limited to 10 participants and tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the official website at www.koreaguidetour.kr/fit/17947.

The program aims to promote Korean heritage through immersive, small-scale experiences.
