Tell us about your job and what you do: I serve as the Management Analyst S-1 [Human Resources] for the Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia. I maintain a rapport with 403d AFSB S-1 and ensure a timely submission of monthly reports to brigade to include manning documents, hiring action status, Overseas Tour Extension reports, rating schemes, and all other S-1 specifics. I also coordinate and facilitate all civilian hiring actions with Area-IV Civilian Personnel Advisory Center and hiring managers, coordinate and execute the on boarding and PCS processes.
How long have you been in this position? 15 years 5 months.
What other duties are you responsible for? I process personnel actions including recruit/fill, reassignment, realignment, and awards. I perform Department of the Army Civilian tour extensions and coordinate DAC registration with the CPAC in the Priority Placement Program. I also coordinate completion of performance evaluations for Korean National personnel. I coordinate and perform permanent change of station and Renewal Agreement Travel orders for DAC personnel. Basically, all administrative duties for S-1 mission and functions.
What are some of your accomplishments while at AFSBn-NEA? In the absence of the Adjutant/S-1, I took charge of the S-1 operations and expertly executed all S-1 related duties and responsibilities. Additionally, I was the Battalion Adjutant for six months prior to the adjutant’s arrival.
What is the best thing about working at AFSBn-NEA? It’s a great place to work, I enjoy working with wonderful people (both Military and Civilians). I have learned a lot about my daily job and our unit mission. Most of all everyone trusts and respects each other. I really enjoy working side by side with my co-workers.
What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy walking and hiking around my place.
Do you have a special skill or talent you would like to share (what is something people might not know about you)? I learned calligraphy but was not skilled enough to share. I am planning to do it again as a hobby.
