KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Senior Airman Andrew Ramirez, 8th Operations Support Squadron aircraft flight equipment journeyman, was selected as Kunsan Air Base’s Pride of the Pack for the week of Feb. 19-23.

Ramirez was selected for his quick thinking and decisive action when members of the 8th Force Support Squadron O’Malley Dining Facility flagged Ramirez down because there was an individual who fell and was having a seizure.

Ramirez instantly sprang into action, removing his blouse to cushion the individual’s head as well as perform tactical combat casualty care tactics to keep the individual safe until the paramedics arrived on scene.

“It was a scary moment and I’ve never dealt with seizures before, but I knew that I couldn’t leave him there by himself,” said Ramirez.

When not saving lives on his off time, Ramirez ensures the pilots of the 8th Fighter Wing have all the necessary aircraft flight equipment to keep them safe while performing their duties.

Ramirez plans to finish his degree in aviation while stationed at Kunsan AB and pursue his dream of being a fighter pilot.

Congratulations to Senior Airman Ramirez and thank you for your dedication to the safety of Airmen in the Wolf Pack.
