With dining out costs continuing to rise, consumers are turning to affordable meal options from large retailers and convenience stores.

Lotte Mart is running a “Delicious Festa” event until May 21, offering up to 25% off on its Yorihada World Buffet line and other deli items. Meal kits and sushi sets are also heavily discounted. The Yorihada line, priced at 3,990 to 4,990 won, emphasizes value through bulk purchasing and simplified production.

GS25 has released a new 4,200-won lunchbox featuring rice balls, pasta, and various side dishes as part of its Hyejaroun series, which has sold over 43 million units since 2023. With “lunchflation” increasing, lunchbox reservations on GS25’s app rose by 39% in early 2025.

E-Mart 24 is offering a 9,900-won whole roast chicken to counter the surge in delivery prices, positioning it as a value-focused meal solution.

Retailers continue to expand cost-effective menus to meet growing consumer demand.
