A unique bicycle tour that connects seven of Busan’s major sea bridges and scenic routes will take place on September 21, offering cyclists a rare opportunity to ride across car-only roads like Gwangan Bridge.

Busan City announced it will hold a launch report meeting for the “2025 Seven Bridges Tour”, outlining the full course, safety measures, and collaborative plans with local agencies.

The non-competitive event will run from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, covering a 77km circular route that highlights the city’s iconic landscapes—from ocean views to urban roads, mountain tunnels, and riverside paths.

The route starts and ends at BEXCO, passing through Gwangan Bridge, Sinsundae Underpass, Busan Port Bridge, Namhang Bridge, Cheonma Tunnel, Jangpyeong Underpass, and Eulsukdo Bridge, with Maekdo Ecological Park as the turnaround point. All roads along the course will be temporarily closed to vehicles during the event.

Special programs will take place throughout the morning, including a parade on the open Gwangan Bridge deck, BMX stunt performances, and gourmet food events featuring a Michelin chef. The event will also include experiences tailored to 1,500 pre-registered foreign tourists, as well as bicycle maintenance workshops, children’s safety classes, and traffic safety campaigns near BEXCO.

Ticket sales begin with an early bird release on July 16, followed by regular ticket sales on July 22. All ticket proceeds will support event operations and safety infrastructure.

This year’s event will focus on four of Busan’s sea bridges, with plans to gradually expand the course in the future. The “Seven Bridges” designated by the city are Gwangan Bridge, Busan Port Bridge, Namhang Bridge, Eulsukdo Bridge, Gadeok Bridge, Shinho Bridge, and Yeongdo Bridge.

Representatives from the Busan Metropolitan Police, Fire and Disaster Headquarters, City Sports Association, Bicycle Federation, university experts, and local cycling clubs will join the planning meeting to coordinate traffic control and safety procedures for the event.
