Seoul Water Reuse Experience Center Children’s Water Playground

(Seoul Metropolitan Government)

The Seoul Water Reuse Experience Center in Gangseo-gu has reopened its popular children’s water playground on July 1, offering a fun, safe, and educational way for kids to cool off during the summer.

Spanning 1,052 square meters, the playground will operate through August 31 and is open to children aged 3 to 10 free of charge.

Reservations are required and can be made via the Seoul Public Service Reservation portal.

Operating in three daily sessions (10:00 am–12:00 pm, 12:30 pm–2:30 pm, 3:00 pm–5:00 pm), the playground will welcome up to 70 children per session.

During the first two weekends of August, hours will be extended until 8:00 pm. The facility is closed on Mondays, public holidays, and rainy days.

The water playground includes hands-on attractions such as fountain claws, bubble splash towers, sound pipes, and a multi-play zone, all designed with safety in mind, including slip-resistant flooring and shallow water under 30 cm. Amenities such as shade structures, changing rooms, and outdoor showers are also available for added comfort.

To ensure hygiene and safety, the Seoul Water Reuse Facilities Corporation will conduct regular water changes, sanitation checks, and provide on-site safety personnel.

Alongside the water playground, a new interactive exhibition titled “What’s Happening in the Magical Water Reuse Village?” will open on July 1.

The exhibit presents the sewage treatment process through a whimsical story involving wizards, allowing children to explore different job roles in the water reuse field through play. Key areas include a dress-up photo zone, control room simulation, rainy day experience zone, and pipeline maintenance activities.

Children can wear helmets and vests and step into mock manholes and sewer pipelines to engage in immersive role play.
