To help residents cool off during the summer heat, Tongyeong City will officially open six waterside play areas across city parks beginning in early July, offering a safe and fun environment for children and families.

Two water playgrounds—at Misu Marine Park and Jukrim 6 Children’s Park—will operate from July 19 to August 31, with trial openings on weekends starting July 5. Four fountain facilities, including those at Bukshin Beach Park, Naejukdo Park, and Misu Marine Park, will run from July 4 to September 10.

For safety, all facilities will close once a week, on Mondays for five sites and on Tuesdays for Jukrim 6 Children’s Park.

Operating hours vary by location:

  • Water playgrounds: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Fountains at Naejukdo and Misu Marine Park: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Bukshin Beach Park waterway and fountain: 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The city has completed safety inspections and facility upgrades, including drainage pump replacements and electrical maintenance.

Throughout the season, Tongyeong will ensure cleanliness and safety through regular water quality checks, safety staff deployment, and posted usage guidelines.
