The Busan Cinema Center has been selected as the host venue for the 2026 KoCACA Art Festival, Korea’s largest performing arts exchange event, the Korea Arts & Culture Centers Association (KOCACA) announced last week.

The festival, which began in 2006 as the Jeju Haebeach Art Festival, brings together more than 220 arts centers and performing arts groups nationwide to promote collaboration and strengthen the distribution of performing arts.

After moving from Jeju to Gimhae in 2024 and Sejong earlier this year, the festival will now be held in Busan from June 8 to 11, 2026.

Busan Cinema Center officials said they plan to expand festival programs with art markets, showcases, forums, fringe performances, and collaborations with the Busan Performing Arts Market to improve international reach.

The event is expected to draw about 10,000 participants, generating a significant economic impact for the city.

The center secured hosting rights over Daegu after emphasizing its year-round indoor and outdoor performance facilities and proximity to cultural and tourism infrastructure.
