Jinju City is offering a mix of history, art, and culinary experiences this August, with special programs designed for families, couples, and culture lovers.
From illuminated fortress nights to riverside picnics, here are eight must-visit attractions and events.
National Heritage Media Art at Jinjuseong Fortress
Through September 7, Jinjuseong will be transformed with media art projections, interactive light installations, and immersive sound experiences. Highlights include a media facade at Gongbukmun Gate and interactive displays at Yeongnam Pojeongsa Temple.
Namgang Starry Night Picnic
Every Saturday at 7 pm, enjoy local snacks, Jinju craft beer, and live busking along the Namgang River. The picnic takes place near Namgaram Starlight Road and the Namgang Music Fountain.
Stage on JINJU Walking Tour
On August 23–24, this performance-based walking tour through Jinjuseong includes live historical reenactments, cultural storytelling, and visits to key fortress sites. One-day and overnight packages are available.
Night Michelin Bicycle Tour
On August 30, ride the Namgang River bike path, stop at night markets, watch street performances, and taste Jinju specialties. Bicycle rentals and food coupons are included; limited to 30 participants.
Korea Night Festa
On August 23, Jinju Battle History Park will host a nationwide night tourism event featuring regional food stalls, night views, and cultural performances, alongside Jinjuseong’s media art display.
Jinju National Heritage Night Tour
From August 29–31, explore Jinjuseong by night with guided tours, stamp missions, fringe performances, and a flea market. The event showcases the fortress’s heritage value after dark.
The Flow of Korean Color Painting III
Until August 31, the Jinju City Lee Seong-ja Art Museum and Railway Culture Park feature 142 works spanning traditional to modern reinterpretations of Korean color painting, with family workshops and expert talks.
Memory, and the Splendid Place Where You Stand
Running until June 14, 2026, at the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Exhibition Hall, this large-scale exhibition blends media art, traditional lanterns, Jinju silk, and Shin Yun-bok’s iconic paintings, with interactive programs for families.
