The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) has released the schedule for its main events, including Master Classes, the Hand-Printing Ceremony, and Special Talks.

Master Classes:

Ann Hui, Miguel Gomes, Kurosawa Kiyoshi This year’s Master Classes offer an in-depth look into the creative minds of iconic directors. Ann Hui, a pioneer of Hong Kong’s New Wave cinema; Miguel Gomes, recent winner of the Best Director Award at Cannes for Grand Tour; and Kurosawa Kiyoshi, a genre film master and this year’s Asian Filmmaker of the Year, will each lead a session.

Hand-Printing Ceremony:

Miguel Gomes Celebrating the legacy of esteemed filmmakers, the Hand-Printing Ceremony will honor Miguel Gomes this year. Following the screening of his award-winning film Grand Tour in the Gala Presentation Section, Gomes will attend his first BIFF, marking his inaugural visit to Korea. Alongside the Master Class, the ceremony offers fans a chance to engage with his work.

Special Talk:

In Memory of the Late Actor Lee Sun-kyun A Special Talk will be held to honor the late actor Lee Sun-kyun, with actors and directors from his most memorable films reflecting on his life and career.

Outdoor Greeting:

Meet the Directors and Cast At the Outdoor Greeting event, directors and cast members from official selections will present their films and interact with the audience. Each session will run for approximately 20 minutes at the BIFF Theatre, Busan Cinema Center.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival runs from October 2 to October 11 at the Busan Cinema Center and surrounding venues.
