Busan Museum will hold a special event titled “At the Museum: Korean Traditional Music Has Arrived” on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m., in collaboration with the Busan National Gugak Center.

Organized to celebrate the inaugural National Music Day established to commemorate the first record of Yeominrak (translated as “Joy of the People”) on the lunar date of June 5, 1447, this event aims to bring traditional Korean music and cultural experiences into a familiar everyday setting.

Visitors will be able to enjoy high-quality traditional performances starting at 2 p.m. in the main building’s first-floor lobby.

Five representative pieces from the Yeongnam region will be showcased, including ChunhyangjeonGyobanggutgeori DanceDongraehak DanceHwangmubongryu Sanjo, and Pangut & Geumhoebukchum.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the outdoor yard and Cultural Experience Center will offer hands-on activities such as mini drum and small gong making, court musician costume try-ons, chroma key photo shoots with traditional backdrops, and traditional games like Pogurak. Some programs, including mini drum crafting and the traditional dress experience, require advance reservation via the museum’s website from by June 11 at 5 p.m..
