Travelers in Busan will soon be able to fly directly to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, without having to transfer at Incheon Airport.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 29th that, following aviation talks with Uzbekistan, the two countries agreed to increase flights from Incheon to Tashkent from 10 to 12 per week and introduced 12 new routes. This brings the total to 24 weekly flights between Korea and Uzbekistan.
The new routes include four flights per week connecting Busan and Tashkent, enhancing travel convenience for residents in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. This agreement is expected to revitalize regional airports and promote human and economic exchanges.
The Ministry also noted potential transfer demand from Uzbekistan to Japan, China, and Southeast Asia via Korean regional airports.
Specific airlines and schedules will be decided in upcoming meetings.
