Gimhae City to host the 2024 Webtoon Festival: ‘Walk With Webtoon’ Oct. 12-13

The 2024 Gimhae Webtoon Festival will be held on October 12th and 13th at Jangyu Yulha Cafe Street.
Now in its second year, the festival aims to introduce the unique appeal of webtoons to the public and create vibrant, youth-driven cultural spaces centered around webtoon content.
This year’s theme, “Walk With Webtoon,” will transform Yulhacheon Meeting Square, Mannam Bridge, and surrounding areas into lively cultural zones filled with citizen experience programs, outdoor exhibitions, and special events.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for 5 p.m. on the 12th, will include youth webtoon cosplay, webtoon OST performances, and K-pop dance showcases.
The “Toon Land” zone at Yulha Cafe Street will offer immersive activities, allowing visitors to step into the world of webtoons by becoming a main character through makeup and costumes.
A special photo booth will be available to capture the moment, and visitors can receive exclusive webtoon-themed goods, such as DIY Wappen hats and Todegi merchandise.
The city has also added two photo zones styled like webtoon speech bubbles, a rotating Trivision billboard, and seven newly designed webtoon-themed stores along the walking path.
