The Climate Change Theme Park water playground in Gimhae will officially operate from July 1 to August 31, providing a free and safe place for residents to cool off during the summer.
The facility will be closed every Monday and on rainy days.
Equipped with a combination play area, water tunnel, and water drop features, the playground has served as a key climate shelter since its opening in 2015, attracting over 10,000 visitors last year alone.
Before full-scale operation, the park held a four-day trial run on June 21–22 and 28–29. Daily operations run from 10 am to 4 pm, divided into five sessions of 40-minute play followed by 20-minute breaks for water quality management.
To ensure safety, each session is capped at 100 participants, with reservation priority. Reservations open every Thursday at 10 am on the Gimhae Carbon Neutral Experience Center website, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For hygiene and safety, water is changed daily, quality is tested every 15 days, and trained personnel are on-site. The city has also established rules to keep the playground clean and safe:
No cooking or outside shoes
No pets or water guns allowed
Aqua shoes are permitted, and food can be brought into the general park area
Gimhae City emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe, family-friendly environment throughout the summer.
