Jeju Air will begin operating a new international route between Busan and Shanghai (Pudong) starting July 25, with flights scheduled four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The outbound flight will depart Gimhae International Airport at 10:15 pm and arrive in Shanghai at 12:05 am the following day. The return flight from Shanghai departs at 4:00 am and lands in Busan at 6:40 am.

The carrier also plans to expand its service to China further by launching a new Incheon–Guilin route on October 1, operating four times a week.

Jeju Air has already resumed service on the Jeju–Xi’an route and increased flights to other Chinese destinations including Weihai and Yanji.

Passenger demand for China routes has grown steadily following China’s visa waiver policy introduced in November 2024.

Jeju Air’s passenger numbers on these routes rose from 31,000 in January to 54,000 in June, with boarding rates improving from the mid-70% range in the first quarter to the mid-80% range in the second.

To mark the launch, Jeju Air is offering limited-time discounts on select China-bound flights until July 13, including routes from Busan to Shanghai, Incheon to Weihai and Qingdao, and Jeju to Beijing. Boarding periods vary by destination.
