Hadong-gun is ready to welcome summer travelers with the return of Daedo Paradise Water Park, set to open on July 25 and operate daily through August 17.

Located in Geumnam-myeon on the scenic island of Daedo, this seasonal water park is nestled in the clean, blue waters of Korea’s southern coast, a natural gem that blends lush greenery with coastal charm.

Operated under the management of Hadong-gun, the park is part of a broader ecological tourism complex that highlights the island’s unspoiled environment and cultural heritage.

Daedo Paradise Water Park features three main pools — a general pool, a launch pool, and a children’s pool — along with a range of slides, including giant, water, and mini slides.

Shower facilities and shaded rest areas are also available, making the park suitable for visitors of all ages.

Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the park also includes outdoor lounges and a family-friendly camping site, ideal for a weekend getaway or day trip.

Visitors can extend their experience at the nearby Daedo Fishing Village Experience Center, which offers hands-on activities like mudflat exploration and sea fishing. These educational programs are especially popular with children and teens, offering a chance to connect with Korea’s marine life and coastal traditions.

Getting to Daedo is easy and scenic — the island is just a 10-minute ferry ride from Noryang Port, near Namhae Bridge.

Ferries run five times daily, with additional weekend services scheduled during the high season in July and August to accommodate the influx of visitors.

Daedo is also steeped in historical significance. It was the site of the Battle of Noryang, the final naval battle of the Imjin War, giving the island a rich cultural backdrop for exploration.

Visitors can enjoy walking trails, seaside pensions, and attractions like the Hadong Geumosan Cable Car and the Geumosan Zip Wire, which stretches 3.42 km — the longest in Asia — offering panoramic views and thrilling descents.
