Sangju-myeon in Namhae will host the 2025 Sangju Silver Sand Festival on Friday, June 21, at Sangju Silver Sand Beach and Songnim Forest, celebrating community spirit under the slogan “Memories on the Sand, Sangju Becoming One.”

Organized by the Sangju-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Association, the festival highlights local pride in Silver Sand Beach as a natural asset, while promoting the “Hometown Love Visit Year” and the 3-Ryeo campaign (Consideration, Encouragement, Promotion).

Designed as a participatory event, the program includes cultural performances, a barefoot walking trail, and activities for all ages and abilities, from seniors to children.

Traditional games like yutnori, tuho, and seoksa will be held as village competitions, and a singing contest will welcome both locals and tourists.

A beach treasure hunt, water sports (kayaking, paddle boats, water skiing), sand sculpting, kite flying, and traditional play areas will enhance the festive atmosphere.

The venue will also feature booths selling local specialties and food trucks for visitors to enjoy throughout the day.
