The 2025 Ungsang Festival will be held on June 7 and 8 at Ungsang Sports Park in Yangsan, celebrating the region’s historical, cultural, and environmental significance under the slogan “Ungsang New Wind! A New Leap.”

The festival opens on Saturday with a large-scale Joseon Tongsinsa parade, reimagining a historical diplomatic procession with 500 participants from civic bands, local artists, and community members.

The opening ceremony will feature symbolic performances, including a sunrise-themed line rocket show and a phoenix act, followed by a concert with singers Son Bin-ah, Eunice, Yoon Su-hyun, and Yang Ji-won.

On Sunday, the focus shifts to the Shinpung Water Festival, inspired by a local rain ritual legend. Highlights include water cannon and bubble effects and stage performances by Chuu, Ulala Session, and DJ Kim Sung-soo (Cool).

The water gun festival, a major hit in 2023, returns with expanded activities like duck boat making, water dance challenges, and bubble shows, particularly designed for families.

Additional events include local youth performances, a Korean traditional music festival, experience booths, and classical concerts in art-themed shelters.

From May 22, illuminated sculptures will also be installed along the Hoeya River near Baekdonggyo Bridge, adding a scenic nighttime attraction.
