Miryang is staging multiple festivals across its downtown area this summer, combining water activities, performing arts, sports, and outdoor concerts.
Five major events, each with a different theme, are running until August 22, with schedules arranged to allow visitors to move easily between venues and enjoy daytime outdoor activities followed by evening performances.
Water Activities by Day, Theater by Night – Summer Splash Water Park & Miryang Performing Arts Festival
The Summer Splash Water Park at Sunshine Miryang Theme Park operates until August 7, offering slides, pools, obstacle courses, pedal boats, and programs such as bubble parties and survival swimming classes. The facility runs in two sessions daily, with admission refundable in Miryang Love Gift Certificates.
In the evening, the 25th Miryang Performing Arts Festival through August 9 features plays, original productions, and children’s programs at the Miryang Arena.
Most performances are indoors, with some free of charge and discounted tickets for locals. Out-of-town visitors can receive partial refunds on lodging and dining.
Miryang Super Festival – August 8–10
The Miryang Riverfront will host the Miryang Super Festival, blending water activities, live music, and sports. Daytime events include a large water slide and a water gun parade, while evening performances cover EDM, trot, and hip-hop.
The program features the “Hip-Hop & Trot Arirang Contest” alongside other guest performances. Festival payback benefits include refunds on accommodation and food purchases.
Youth Theater and National Baseball – August 6–18
The 29th Korea Youth Theater Festival runs through August 12, showcasing original plays by youth theater groups nationwide, all with free admission.
The 59th President’s Cup National University Baseball Tournament will be held August 6–18 at Sunshine Miryang Theme Park’s baseball field, with 51 university teams competing in a tournament format. Admission is free.
Payback Festa Benefits
Running until August 10, the Miryang Summer Payback Festa offers refunds in Miryang Love Gift Certificates for spending at the city’s summer festivals.
Eligible activities include full refunds for water park admission, and partial refunds for accommodation and food purchases during designated festivals.
