The 2024 Miryang River Autumn Festival, will take place from October 17 to 19 at the Sammun-dong Outdoor Performance Hall along the Miryang River.

The festival, designed for people of all ages, will offer a wide array of performances, cultural experiences, and community activities.

Kicking off the event, the 29th Miryang Citizens’ Day Commemoration Ceremony will be held on October 17 at 5 p.m.

Hosted by the International Wisemen Miryang Club, the day will feature a street parade from 16 towns, pre-ceremony performances, the Citizens’ Charter reading, and the Miryang Citizens’ Awards Ceremony honoring Park No-tae (Culture), Yoon Jong-guk (Industry), and Son In-sang (Volunteerism).

Following this, the Citizens’ Festival will include performances from the renowned Miryang Arirang Orchestra, local dance teams, and the sister city Namwon’s Nongak Troupe. The night will end with an open concert featuring trot singers Na Tae-joo and So Yu-mi, and the girl group Bibiji.

The area from the government office to Miryang Bridge will also be closed from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the town parade.

On October 18, at 6:30 p.m., a traditional mask dance performance by the Busan National Gugak Center will serve as a prelude to the Regional Intangible Heritage Festival, featuring performances by notable artists such as Kim Jae-woo’s Heungheung Band and Kim Da-hyun.

The final day, October 19, will begin with intangible cultural heritage performances and hands-on booths showcasing Miryang’s rich traditions.

At 2 p.m., the Miryang Hip Hop Festival will take over, with dance and rap competitions followed by performances from stars like Deep and Dapp, Superbee, and Tae.

This year’s festival will also introduce a new food zone, “Baedal Plaza,” aimed at supporting local small businesses. Attendees can enjoy beverages and alcohol onsite, while other food can be brought from home or ordered for delivery.
