Introduction: Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is Suwon’s landmark festival held every October at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site built to commemorate King Jeongjo’s filial piety and dream of national prosperity and military power.

Korean Folk Village Evening Festival

Introduction: The Korean Folk Village Evening Festival takes place on weekends & public holiday evenings until 21:30 to show the beauty of traditional houses at night. The festival also showcases “Yeonbun,” an extravagant multi-media performance, and a walk-through haunted house experience. Several other exciting and fun activities are prepared to entertain visitors.

Jinju Namgang Yudeung (Lantern) Festival

Introduction: Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originates from the floating lanterns that were used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of the Imjin War (1592-1598) as a military strategy to prevent Japanese troops from wading the Namgang River. The highlights of the festival are the floating of lanterns along the Namgang River and the parade of lanterns created by local students themselves. In addition, the festival has various events and programs including a fireworks show, water lighting show, cultural performances, and more.

Icheon Rice Cultural Festival

Address: 48, Gongwon-ro, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

Introduction: Icheon is famous for producing the best rice in Korea. In fact, Icheon rice is so good that it used to be served to the kings of Korea in the past, and is still highly thought of today. The Icheon Rice Culture Festival celebrates its famous rice and local agricultural practices. Eleven-themed yards provide various activities and events for festivalgoers. Rice from a huge rice cauldron that can feed up to 2,000 people is sold for 2,000 won and a bar rice cake 600 meters long is cut and shared.

Introduction: Cheongsong Apple Festival is held in the fall every year to promote the excellent quality of apples grown in the area. Cheongsong has the perfect conditions for superior taste and quality of apples, being located in a clean environment with a low amount of rainfall and plenty of sunlight. The festival offers various unique events and activities to entertain visitors.

Pyeongchang Trout Festival

Introduction: The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place during winter in Pyeongchang, 700 meters above sea level. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a variety of programs including ice and lure fishing for trout, snow programs, ice programs, folk programs, and more. Any trout caught from ice fishing and lure fishing can be prepared right away in different dishes at a nearby restaurant.
