Panstar Group has completed preparations for the official launch of the Panstar Miracle, Korea’s first domestically built luxury cruise ferry.
The vessel will begin service on the Busan–Osaka route starting April 13, coinciding with the opening of the Osaka Expo in Japan.
The ship, whose conceptual design began in June 2021, underwent a four-year construction process and began sea trials in February of this year.
The Miracle is a 22,000-ton hybrid cruise ferry, measuring 171 meters in length and 25.4 meters in width, and is equipped to carry 355 passengers in 102 rooms, as well as approximately 250 TEU containers.
Its hybrid propulsion system, which combines a diesel engine with electric motors and generators, is designed to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions—part of Panstar’s broader push toward sustainable shipping solutions.
Onboard amenities are extensive, designed to offer cruise-level comfort and entertainment. These include an outdoor swimming pool, jogging track, golf practice range, therapy room, sauna, banquet and party halls, a kids’ zone, and balcony rooms. There’s also a large restaurant with a performance stage, cafe, duty-free shop, and game room.
The interior has been designed to resemble a five-star hotel, with an atmosphere described as both refined and dreamlike.
Safety features include a fin stabilizer to reduce motion at sea and the SRtP (Safe Return to Port) system, allowing the vessel to automatically return to port in the event of an emergency.
Following its launch, the Panstar Miracle will operate not only regular voyages between Busan and Osaka but will also offer cruise itineraries within Japan’s Seto Inland Sea and one-night cruise experiences departing from Busan Port.
