(Dadaepo Beach)

Following the successful conclusion of this year’s Busan Sea Festival, Saha-gu is embarking on an ambitious project to transform Dadaepo Beach, known for its stunning sunsets and status as a key attraction in western Busan.

The district aims to revamp the beach by relocating the park’s parking lot underground and expanding water-friendly spaces to enhance visitor experiences, including new “sunset camping” areas.

Saha-gu District Mayor Lee Gap-jun announced plans to construct a larger underground parking facility at Dadaepo Beach Park.

Currently, the park has three parking lots, with a combined total of 370 above-ground spaces.

The proposal involves moving these spaces underground and expanding the Molundae parking lot to two floors.

This development is designed to address parking shortages and illegal parking issues while leveraging the beach’s natural beauty to attract more tourists.

Mayor Lee is actively negotiating with Busan City, relevant government ministries, and Busan Transportation Corporation to secure support for the project.

He emphasized the importance of expanding waterside spaces to elevate Dadaepo Beach as a premier tourist and cultural destination in Busan, which would also boost the local economy and contribute to the development of western Busan.
