The Deokyangjeon Chuhyangdaeje, a traditional rite to honor King Yang of Garak (King Guhyeong), the 10th King of Garak, and Queen Gyehwa, will take place today at Deokyangjeon in Geumseo-myeon, Sancheong-gun.

This year’s ceremony will see Kim Cheol-bae, a member of the Garak Central Clan Association Steering Committee, serving as the Choheongwan, with Kim Jong-tae, Director of the Seoul Seongbuk-gu Cultural Center, as the Aheongwan, and Kim Gwang-eul, Director of the Garak Central Clan Association, as the Jongheongwan, responsible for offering the tributes.

Deokyangjeon, a significant historical site from the Gaya period, was designated as Cultural Heritage Material No. 50 of Gyeongsangnam-do in 1983.

The Chuhyangdaeje, along with Chunhyangdaeje, was recognized as an outstanding ancestral rite in Gyeongsangnam-do.

These ceremonies are held annually on the 16th day of the 3rd lunar month and the 16th day of the 9th lunar month.

In addition to the main ceremonies, traditional practices such as the Sakmang Hyangrye ceremony are observed on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar calendar, continuing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
