In celebration of its 100th anniversary, Culture Station Seoul 284 has transformed into a hub for digital and fusion art, hosting a cutting-edge festival until November 30, open free of charge to all citizens.

Organized by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, this event brings together digital technology and historical heritage, featuring 22 innovative artworks from eight countries.

These pieces integrate AI, robotics, and other advanced technologies, offering a visionary look into the future of art.

The 3rd Seoul Fusion Art Festival Unfold X 2024 showcases works like Boundaries, which recently featured at the Venice Biennale, and a host of interactive installations.

Set within the historic Culture Station Seoul 284, once a bustling gateway to the city, the festival now reimagines this space as a beacon for digital-art fusion.

Themed “2084: A Space Odyssey”, the exhibition invites visitors to explore contemporary artworks that include a massive LED display and interactive installations. Sections such as “Whale’s Song,” “Ship of Time and Space,” and “Ruins of the Future” guide audiences through a range of experiences where the digital meets the physical.

Among the standout pieces, Voice Scroll by David Rokeby converts spoken words into panoramic visuals, while Native Picture by Robot Lab employs an industrial robot to recreate Mars landscapes based on NASA data, blurring the line between art and scientific exploration.

In Solarsonic Band by Yeom In-hwa, visitors step into an extended reality (XR) experience, assuming the role of a band leader navigating a future climate crisis.

Additionally, OOX 2.0, an AI poet created by Yang Suk-hyun, crafts custom poetry for visitors based on their birth dates.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closed Mondays), the exhibition offers a unique blend of Seoul’s history and digital innovation.
