(Suyeong-gu)

Suyeong-gu has announced plans for the Millak Luce Festa (Milupe), the district’s first light festival, which is set to take place at Millak Waterside Park.

Following the success of the Gwangalli Drone Show, this new festival aims to revive the area’s struggling commercial district, which has faced challenges since being designated a no-drinking zone, and transform it into a vibrant cultural tourism destination.

Running from November 2, 2024, to February 28, 2025, Milupe will feature LED structures and media art along the park’s walking paths.

The district has allocated 465 million won for the festival, which is themed ‘Lupritelkam’—a Latin-inspired spell symbolizing the hope for a prosperous New Year, where the wishes of residents and visitors come true.

The festival’s storyline centers on ‘Luce,’ a brave fish that embarks on a journey to restore light to the Dragon Palace after it loses its glow during a typhoon. Visitors will explore this magical story through seven themed zones.

To enhance the festival experience, 20 outdoor tents will be set up with a camping atmosphere, allowing visitors to enjoy fresh seafood from local vendors while soaking in the coastal ambiance.
