In the Philippines traysikel, or motorized tricycles, and jeepneys are the most common means of public transportation for short distances.

Traysikels are colorful motorbikes fitted with sidecars made of steel with a cloth roof and just enough space for about two passengers. Hop a ride on these like you would a taxi for a quick ride to nearby shopping or to your hotel.

Riding a traysikel is much cheaper than a taxi at around 30 to 50 pesos (under $1.00) and is a fun way to get around.

You’ll find these interesting modes of transportation in every city in the Philippines, so make sure you go for an unforgettable and inexpensive ride. Happy travels!
