Yulbom Botanical Garden in Gwangju is currently celebrating the beauty of summer with its vibrant Balsam Flower Season.

Running through September 8, this festival showcases the garden adorned with stunning pink blooms of Balsam and Western Balsam (San Pachens), offering visitors an enchanting floral experience that extends from summer into autumn.

Visitors can look forward to strolling through the outdoor gardens beautifully painted with the delicate pink hues of Balsam flowers. A unique feature of the festival is the free experience of dyeing nails with balsam flowers, available throughout the event. Additionally, participants can engage in planting rosemary for a fee of 10,000 won or create their own scented flower necklaces for 10,000 won.

The festival also includes the Children’s Happiness Event, which runs from April to November, where each child (25 months to elementary school age) receives one animal food exchange ticket upon entry. Other activities include rail sledding and an animal feeding experience, both of which are available for an additional fee.

Yulbom Botanical Garden and Agricultural Arts Center spans an impressive 20,000 pyeong of outdoor space. It is home to a variety of flowers and trees that change with the seasons, offering a serene retreat where visitors can relax and enjoy nature. Benches and platforms are scattered throughout the garden, providing perfect spots to take in the scenery.
