Located right at the entrance to Camp Casey, Korea, the USO has long since been a place of refuge for our Service Members, DOD Civilians, and the community as a whole. That statement holds true (maybe even more so) during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The USO provides a variety of programs and offerings to its patrons, including free snacks, WIFI, gaming consoles, and movies. The USO also has printing and scanning capabilities available for those who need work assistance. The service footprint of the USO Casey includes Camp Casey, Camp Hovey, Rodriguez Live Fire Complex, Warrior Base, and the Joint Security Area (JSA). Additionally, we have implemented various programs to make the transitioning process easier for our customers. In December 2020, the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC) requested direct support from USO Casey to assist in improving the experience of newly arrived Service & Family Members at the Joint Personnel Processing Center (JPPC) at Incheon International Airport (ICN). The goal is to provide snacks and simple activities to those who are unable to leave the marshalling area during long wait times for ground transportation to Osan Air Base and Camp Humphreys due to the quarantine protocol. Since December 18th, 2020, USO Casey has supported the JPPC with a weekly supply of 400 welcome packages that consist of snacks, self-activation sim card, masks, simple games and activities, and water. JPPC personnel come to our USO every Friday at 1400 to help prepare the welcome kits for delivery at the airport. The packages themselves are greatly appreciated by those who receive them and is seen as a warm welcome after a long journey. The response for the kits has been overwhelmingly positive, and we enjoy providing for our incoming personnel. Some comments that we receive are below: "They offered much needed water and snacks which was great after a long flight." "Army personnel were thoughtful by handing me water and snacks while we waited for our bus." "Traveling with young kids can be tough, especially with these long flights. My kids enjoyed the chips and crackers that were provided! It was just enough to hold them over until we got on the bus." “At USO Casey, we are happy to be of assistance to our service members and their families in any way that we can. We are truly the force behind the fight,” stated Jieun Song, Center Manager, USO Casey. The doors of the USO will always be open to our service members, friends, and family. Our staff and volunteers are always happy to provide anything that we can to help your stay be fun and memorable. Come on in and enjoy what we have to offer! Remember, the USO is always by your side and our mission is to connect Service & Family Members to home, family, and country every day.
