In a recent and unexpected twist of military readiness, the USO demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the well-being of our service members by bringing a taste of home for service members of the 1st Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment of the 1st Armored Division, and the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division, during their "no notice" deployment readiness exercise to Korea at Rodriguez Range. The exercise brought together the "Iron Soldiers" of 1-77 Armor, 1st Armored Division, who were deployed for an 11-day armored gunnery and systems validation operation. These valiant soldiers, operating in close coordination with the 2nd Infantry Division, ROK-US Combined Division, showcased their unbreakable dedication to the ROK-US Alliance, solidifying the alliance's stance on maintaining a robust combined defense posture and 'fight tonight' capabilities to safeguard the Republic of Korea from any potential threat.
In the midst of a rigorous and unexpected deployment readiness exercise, where the soldiers’ meals were limited to Meals-Ready-to-Eat (MREs) packages as their primary sustenance, the USO stepped in to offer a remarkable display of support and appreciation. Recognizing the physical and emotional demands placed upon these warriors, the USO organized a morale booster BBQ feast for a staggering 700 personnel.
