With a host of new Thai restaurants popping up around the city in the past year or two, it’s becoming much easier to get a great Thai meal in Busan.
Located in Seomyeon, Suvarnabhumi, named after Bangkok’s main airport, welcomes you to their dining experience with a menu reminiscent of the arrival card into Thailand — you order your meal on the menu which also gives you the option of how you want your meal cooked.
Its menu is small, but has the traditional Thai standards — Phad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yum Kung and Song Tum are all on the menu.
Pros: It’s very affordable for the price with no dishes costing more than 10,000 won. If you’re looking for more authentic old-style Thai, this is a good choice. Also has three types of Thai beer for 5,000 won.
Negatives: Only five tables so seating may be difficult if they get busy. The restaurant’s interior has traditional Thai decorations, but it’s not going to “wow” a date if that’s your plan. The fried rice option is not a fried rice, but rather just a rice and meat dish.
Price: Almost everything is priced between 7,000 and 7,900 won with Tom Yum Kung costing 8,900 won and Yom Woon Sen costing 9,900 won. Note that currently some menu items have been raised by 500 won due to the egg price rise in Korea.
