Busan’s Taxi Michelin Festival (City of Busan)
Busan’s popular downtown revitalization event, Taxi Michelin, returns for its 10th edition from May 16 to 18, bringing together veteran taxi drivers, local food experts, and citizens to showcase the city’s hidden culinary gems.
Held across four central districts, Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Dong-gu, and Yeongdo-gu, the festival introduces a new lineup of recommended eateries through the 2024 Taxi Michelin Guidebook.
This year’s guide includes suggestions not only from taxi drivers but also from local residents, highlighting downtown’s lesser-known restaurants, dessert shops, and cafés. An English edition has also been added for international visitors.
The festival opens with a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on May 16 at Busan Station Square, featuring the debut of a special collaborative menu created by Chef Lee Kyu-jin of Michelin-recognized Gogwanhambak and the fine dining restaurant Ramsay. This dish will be available at Gogwanhambak for one month following the launch.
Interactive programs include a mission-based walking tour, a cooking class using local ingredients, a night market-style food event with city views, and the Michelin Guide Taxi experience—where participants follow the advice of taxi drivers to discover hidden restaurants.
Festival details, schedules, and reservations are available through the official website of the Busan Culture and Tourism Festival Organizing Committee (www.bfo.or.kr). Pre-registration for events is open via Interpark until May 17.
