Sea snails are a popular cooking ingredient in Korea. You can find the dishes made of sea snails in Japan and France, but around 80 percent of sea snails caught in oceans around the world are consumed in South Korea.
The most common Korean recipe to enjoy snails is a spicy sea snails salad (golbaengi-muchim). It is a spicy and tangy mixed salad with a variety of vegetables, noodles and red pepper paste sauce and often served with soju.
